Surprise Anniversary Party

This past month was my grandparent's 60th wedding anniversary. My grandparents never seem to want to be in the forefront of a party, but when they casually announced that it was going to be their wedding anniversary, we decided to make the day all about them and their love. Sixty years of marriage is such an amazing testament to true commitment and we were honored to be able to plan a party for them.

Since I have been dying to put all of my mother's silver to good use, we decided to fill one long table with overflowing amounts of silver candlesticks, teapots, and platters. We also played with greenery by using balls of moss and succulents. We found out that a 60th anniversary is the diamond anniversary, so we included a little bit of sparkle around the silver. Underneath all of the decorations, was a silver and white open weave table runner. Since no party is complete without a few puffs, we hung white paper flower puffs from the crystal chandelier. To finish it all off, my amazing sister-in-law used her graphic design talent to whip us up some place cards.

The surprise went perfectly! My grandparents had no idea what they were walking into and were so excited to be the guests of honor. There was plenty of laughter, stories, and of course food. Our family couldn't have asked for a better Sunday to all gather together. My husband and I are coming up on only our second anniversary and we couldn't be more elated to see what our future could be. Lots of love and lots of family.

And of course it wouldn't be complete without a few pictures of mommy and baby playing!
